We will expect them to be a hands-on contributor as well as provide leadership to our existing team of quality engineers. The quality engineer will be assigned to our US Data Transformation program. We are seeking to transform how data is used in the US and consequently the right candidate will have exposure to up-to-the-minute approaches to data management and will be a though-leader in how we effectively ensure the quality of our data and data applications. Responsibilities Lead US Datas Quality engineering function setting standards and managing performance of vendor resources. Owning and driving the test coverage plan for the US Cloud Data Platform. Working with our Director of Data Engineering and others to design future development of our test automation framework. Being a hands-on leader developing tests and our testing framework alongside the QE team. Adopting a shift-left approach to ensure that our quality approach is well aligned with the needs of the business. Championing the critical mindset that is needed to ensure our solutions are of high quality. Requirements and Experience Significant experience as a lead quality engineer with ownership of a test automation framework for a cloud data platform. The ideal candidate will have built such a framework from scratch. Good knowledge of our core programming languages Python and SQL. Expertise with the pytest framework Exposure to our key data technologies - Databricks and dbt is preferred. Firm understanding of modern testing approaches including shift left and BDD. Must be a data specialist with a sound understanding of how testing data applications differs from traditional application testing. Demonstrated ability to own a roadmap for data quality automation. An experienced servant-leader who can inspire out quality engineering team to deliver excellence.
