Role: API Engineer Collaborate with application teams, machine learning teams and data teams to design reusable and scalable patterns for serving data, and facilitating communication between microservices or triggering event based jobs. Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to embed role based access control (RBAC) into all API authentication systems. Setup documentation and systems to allow other engineering teams to contribute to the federated API gateway by authoring API's, registering API's, deprecating API's and facilitating continuous change. Implement continuous, real-time monitoring systems for API usage, response times, load testing, blue-green deployments, penetration testing. Own and take responsibility for the health and uptime of API's in production. Modernize and transform legacy interfaces into modern architecture, to digitize and monetize our ecosystem. Daily interactions with Product, Data Science and Data Engineering teams to promote and integrate new technologies and reusable components. Develop and deploy features continuously with automated unit testing and integration testing. Review code daily to promote high quality and frequent production deployments.
