The ideal candidate will possess the ability to create intuitive and innovative digital interfaces while solving complex interaction design challenges. This role focuses on enhancing the user shopping experience by overseeing the development and maintenance of the UX/UI design system. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create user-centered designs for Meijers mobile and digital platforms. Develop and govern a new UX/UI design system to maintain consistency across all digital experiences. Oversee the creation of design patterns and components, ensuring a seamless user experience. Assist in the documentation of design system components, behaviors, and usage guidelines. Lead the adoption of the design system across multiple teams, ensuring compliance and consistency. Provide mentorship to junior designers and offer actionable feedback on their designs. Work with teams to conduct user research, A/B testing, and usability studies to enhance design quality. Required Skills: 3-5+ years of UX design experience for digital products, specifically mobile platforms. 3+ years of experience designing products using a design system. 1+ years of experience overseeing the development or maintenance of a design system. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, etc. Experience working in an Agile environment. Strong understanding of user-centered design (UCD), usability, accessibility, and interaction design principles. Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Portfolio demonstrating expertise in design process, interaction design, and visual design. Additional Requirements: Must be local to Grand Rapids, MI. Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment. Must provide a valid Drivers License/Visa and LinkedIn profile.
