C2C The position provides engineering support as well as architectural design of complex systems running on customers on premise cloud environment. Ability to understand virtual network management, relationships of servers and its services including integrations with storage solutions, vulnerability management, and security best practices for hardening of key infrastructure services running on the VMware server environment. Innovate ideas in architectural designs for high availability and disaster recovery, create standards for configurations and monitoring of operational needs, and research new ideas based on vendor and industry trends. Collaboration with clients, key stakeholders of managed services, and lead on projects with minimal supervision, and serve as technical lead for the team. | Current Required Experience | 10+ years' relevant experience with system administration including installation, maintenance, support or an equivalent combination. May require related specific experience with any of the following: operating systems, servers, hardware, network administration, authentication systems, client server applications, designing/developing system enhancements and software applications, programming experience with modern languages and, application software, protocols, tools and utilities. | Current Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Proficiency with multi-vendor hardware/software management, security, network/Internet protocols. May require any of the following: problem identification/resolution, performance management/tuning, and design configuration/planning. Knowledge of related large-scale computing systems and/or product installs and maintenance. Ability to provide technical leadership and management of complex, large-scale computing systems projects. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Required Skills: Implementing projects requiring VMware experience, including vSphere and administration of VMware clusters Experience with enterprise-level virtualization, designing, implementing and maintaining VMware ESXi servers and clusters Strong knowledge of storage solutions and how to integrate them on the cluster Knowledge of networking integration into VMware ESXi and hands-on troubleshooting common problems Experience with capacity planning, monitoring, and maintenance of VMware clusters with VMware infrastructure/vSphere VMware ESXi infrastructure build, administration and support experience Experience in installing, upgrading VMware systems and servers, and maintaining the security and stability of the VMware environment Patch management: operating system, security patches, and/or handling configurational issues Good hands-on technical and troubleshooting experience including provisioning, configuration, modification, and decommissioning Experience in handling virtual machine server and appliance instances Current Preferred Experience | 10+ years of experience with architecture, implementing and administering VMWare based solutions, experience managing storage devices such as SAN, troubleshooting and solving difficult system problems (hardware, software, and basic networking). Ability to balance multiple, concurrent projects, and regularly communicate issues and experience working in an autonomous, fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Experience supervising incident management using problem management tools (ServiceLink). 10+ years relevant experience with complex production problem resolution and complex production scheduling.
