Please have a look and let me know your views Job Description - Job Title: Back-End Developer (MySQL) -Database Developer Location: On-site in Atlanta, GA (Old Fourth Ward/East Belt Line) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Back-End Developer to work closely with both our front-end development team and database administrators to design, implement, and optimize database schemas, stored procedures, and triggers. You will also be responsible for developing robust back-end APIs and troubleshooting complex technical issues, with a primary focus on MySQL and SQL Server. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful products in the scientific research community. Responsibilities: Database Design & Optimization: Design and implement efficient database schemas for scalable applications. Write and optimize stored procedures, triggers, and SQL queries. Optimize database performance to meet application requirements. API Development: Develop and maintain robust back-end APIs using SQL-based technologies and frameworks. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve complex technical issues related to the database and application performance. Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers and database administrators, to ensure seamless integration of the back-end with other systems. Write clear and concise technical documentation, including system design, process documentation, and user guides. Required Skills & Experience: Experience: 5-7 years of experience in back-end development with a strong focus on MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server. Proven expertise in relational database design, administration, and optimization. Technical Skills: Extensive experience with writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers (5+ years). Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices. Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD methodologies. Experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred). Strong understanding of API design, especially RESTful APIs. Familiarity with unit testing and integration testing. Soft Skills Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce well-organized technical documentation. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with geographically dispersed teams. Comfort with on-site work in the Atlanta, GA area. Bonus Skills: Experience in database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, security management, and performance tuning. Experience developing end-to-end complex projects. Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Exposure to Agile and SDLC methodologies. Ability to mentor junior developers and guide their technical growth.
