Job: FinOps Engineer Interview : onsite interviews locations: Cincinnati, Charlotte, Chicago, need local Duration: 6-Month Contract Project Overview: As a FinOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing cloud costs, establishing governance strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud spending aligns with financial goals. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving measures such as right-sizing resources, leveraging reserved/spot instances, and optimizing storage solutions. Monitoring & Reporting: Deploy real-time tracking, analytics, and reporting tools to provide transparency into cloud expenses. Automation & Governance: Develop scripts, policies, and frameworks to enforce cost control measures and enhance operational efficiency. Collaboration: Partner with finance, engineering, and operations teams to align cloud spending with business objectives. Budgeting & Forecasting: Utilize AI/ML models to predict future cloud costs based on historical retail sales trends. Cloud Cost Management Tools: Implement monitoring tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and GCP Billing to oversee expenses across departments. Architectural Decision-Making: Support evaluations of automation costs and identify further opportunities for savings. Required Skills (Non-Negotiable): Cloud Spend Ownership: Proven experience managing cloud budgets of $500K+. Cost Optimization Expertise: Demonstrated ability to reduce cloud costs while maintaining performance, security, and scalability. Stakeholder Collaboration: Strong ability to interact with various business units and influence cloud cost decisions. Accountability for Cloud Expenses: Must have prior roles where cloud spend was directly under their responsibility. Architectural Skills: Expertise in assessing automation costs and identifying optimization opportunities. Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have): Retail Industry Experience: Familiarity with cloud cost management in retail environments. Multi-Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure and GCP. Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Terraform for automating cloud cost management. Experience with FinOps Tools: Knowledge of AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and GCP Billing.
