Hi,

Role: Control-M Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA(onsite)

Control-M Environment Management:

Install, configure, and maintain Control-M components, including the Control-M
Server, Control-M/Agent, and Control-M/Enterprise Manager.

Oversee the operation and administration of the Control-M system, ensuring
optimal performance, reliability, and uptime.

Manage control of job flows, queues, schedules, and workflows across multiple
platforms and environments.

Job Scheduling & Monitoring:

Configure and schedule complex batch jobs, monitor job execution, and ensure
jobs are completed on time.

Troubleshoot job failures or delays, performing root cause analysis and
resolving issues to minimize system downtime.

Set up and manage job dependencies, ensuring jobs are triggered based on
specific conditions or events.

Performance Optimization:

Monitor the performance of Control-M components and job scheduling to ensure
resources are used efficiently.

Perform tuning and optimization tasks for job processing, such as adjusting job
priorities, resource allocations, and time windows.

Ensure that the Control-M environment scales effectively to meet growing
workloads and business demands.

System Integration:

Integrate Control-M with other enterprise systems, databases, cloud platforms,
and applications to ensure smooth operation and data exchange.

Use APIs, custom scripts, and other tools to extend Control-M functionality and
enable end-to-end automation across IT processes.

Implement and support third-party integrations with monitoring tools,
notification systems, ticketing platforms, etc.

Security & Access Control:

Implement and enforce security best practices for Control-M, ensuring proper
user access management, including role-based access control (RBAC).

Configure and maintain secure communication protocols and encryption to protect
sensitive job data.

Manage user permissions, ensuring that each user has appropriate access levels
based on their role within the organization.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management:

Proactively monitor the job scheduling environment for failures or performance
issues.

Investigate and resolve incidents, including job failures, system crashes, and
resource bottlenecks.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues, implementing corrective
actions to prevent future occurrences.

Upgrades & Patches:

Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and hotfixes to ensure that
Control-M components remain up-to-date with the latest features and security
patches.

Test patches and updates in a controlled environment before implementing them
in production to avoid disruptions.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed documentation of the Control-M environment, including job
flows, system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and system performance
metrics.

Generate regular reports on job success/failure rates, system performance, and
resource utilization.

Document new job scheduling workflows and ensure that others in the
organization can easily follow them.

Backup & Recovery:

Establish and manage backup and recovery processes for Control-M components,
ensuring business continuity in case of failures.

Regularly test backup and restore procedures to ensure that they are effective
and meet organizational requirements.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:

Collaborate with application teams, developers, and infrastructure teams to understand
their scheduling needs and provide support.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Control-M administrators or
other team members.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss ongoing improvements, new
requirements, or changes to the Control-M system.

Automation and Script Development:

Develop, test, and maintain custom scripts to automate repetitive tasks or job
flows within the Control-M environment.

Use scripting languages (such as Python, , or Perl) to enhance Control-M
functionalities and improve efficiency.

Compliance & Auditing:

Ensure that the Control-M environment complies with internal policies,
regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Audit job schedules, user activity, and system configurations to identify
potential security risks or compliance issues.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

In-depth knowledge of Control-M and job scheduling concepts.

Strong expertise in operating systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows) and related tools.

Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Perl, ) for automation and customization.

Understanding of database management and integrations with databases (e.g.,
Oracle, SQL Server).

Knowledge of networking, security, and cloud technologies.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Experience with job failure recovery, incident management, and root cause
analysis.

Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and
non-technical teams
