Position: Linux Engineer/Admin Location: Fully Remote Duration: 6+ months Job Description: Need updated LinkedIn Senior Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator The candidate will have a strong Linux Engineer/Administrator background, including strong bash skills and a good understanding of Unix fundamentals, with a focus on Red Hat and its variants. This seven person team supports all Linux servers, including AWS and the datacentre. The team is geographically diverse, and seating can be anywhere allowable by Client standards. Desired Technical Skills: Bash: expert or high level. Linux administration: expert or high level. (Red Hat/Centos/Amazon style) Designs, implements, customizes, maintains, and administers operating systems and system software products. Python: Maintain some Python scripts Soft Skills: Quality focused: Our team is relied upon by the entire organization. Automation focused: Our team values infrastructure as code. Collaboration minded: Work with every technology department and have a company-wide impact. Team focused: Our team cross-trains and supports each other closely. Desired skills and/or optional training opportunities: The ideal candidate will take a senior role in organizing data center projects. Sendmail server experience is preferred, but is not a daily activity. Evaluating and acting on security reports in partnership with the security department. We use puppet, fab, and ansible to automate on-prem servers. Aws: ec2/ami/lb/vpc, ecs, eks, cloud design concepts, and usage fundamentals of IAM and S3.
