These applications are utilized by both internal ELECT staff and external constituents of the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications, with a particular emphasis on Cloud Services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in programming, design, and implementation of cloud-based applications, as well as experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and cloud solutions from major providers. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Business Analysts, Application Architects, and the Application Development team to ensure alignment with customer requirements and technical specifications. Analyze, design, and code new applications, focusing on robust, scalable solutions. Participate in ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing applications. Develop and implement Cloud Service-based solutions in accordance with modern design practices and industry standards. Work closely with SaaS and Cloud Service providers when necessary to integrate external services into the application ecosystem. Ensure code quality, security, and performance through best practices. Required Skills and Experience: Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework & Core, MVC, WebForms, and Web Services. Strong experience with SQL, Git SCM, and JavaScript. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, and Agile development practices. In-depth understanding of application security best practices. Knowledge of Cloud Services and integration with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Preferred Skills: Familiarity with mobile-first and responsive design practices. Experience working with major Cloud Service Providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Additional Information: ELECT follows a collaborative, team-oriented approach to application development.
