Department: Application DB Management We have a new long-term contract opportunity in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. The contract is for a SQL Server DBA (C-86); see the attached announcement. After six months, this position is eligible for conversion to a regular employee based on performance and the contractor's choice. AOPC does not sponsor work visa applications. The selected candidate must work on-site for six weeks before being eligible for two telework days per week. Description: SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical MS SQL Server systems, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and recoverability of data for a wide variety of in-house developed applications and off the shelf software. The position requires solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and requires assumption of rotating on-call duties. The successful candidate will be able to take direction well, yet contribute their own insights when required, working both independently and collaboratively with other teams. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of one year of IT experience which involved the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration. A satisfactory criminal check is required (to be completed by AOPC). Job Duties Manage SQL Server implementations across all environments from development, through testing to production. Maintain database servers and processes to ensure high levels of integrity, reliability and recoverability while keeping performance and security in line with industry standards. Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. Assist in providing 24x7 support for critical production systems. Perform scheduled maintenance which includes after-hours deployment of CUs and Hotfixes. Participation in an on-call rotation Technical Requirements 3+ years MSSQL server administration experience required. Extensive experience with backups, restores, and recovery models. Proficiency with writing T-SQL code. Moderate experience with High Availability (HA) options. Moderate experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) options. Moderate experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). Moderate experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services). Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. MS Dynamics CRM MSSQL server administration experience. SharePoint MSSQL server administration experience.
