WORK LOCATION: 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792 AGENCY-BUREAU: School of Medicine and Public Health Information Technology SUBMISSIONS DUE: 04/15/25 4PM CST REQUIRED SKILLS: (Need Majority; 10+ Years) Microsoft Active Directory Hardware and software troubleshooting skills Customer service Computer software, operating systems, hardware, and networking Able to work in a team as well as independently NICE TO HAVE SKILLS: 3+ years relevant work experience with Windows 10/11 2+ years relevant work experience with OSX Experience and knowledge of computer security Excellent verbal and written communication skills DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: This position reports directly to the IT User Support Services Manager and will be part of a multi-department user support services team. The Desktop Computer consultant will be responsible for routine, first and second-level technical troubleshooting, including determining solutions for more complex issues by leveraging documented procedures and ensuring a high level of customer service to support the mission activities of the institution through information technology (IT). Job Responsibilities: Completes installations, configurations, repairs, automations, and modifications of complex technology hardware, software, and associated components independently Identifies, troubleshoots, resolves, and/or escalates more complex first and second-level technical problems for various products and services under general supervision Receives and responds to inquiries and provides more complex technical information through various communication mediums according to established policies and procedures Document inquiries and responses and recommend procedural improvements to unit leadership Other points of note for the role: The selected hire MUST have an up-to-date flu shot.
