Key Responsibilities: A Network Strategist or Program Manager in Network is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, design, and execution of network-related initiatives within an organization. Their role ensures that the network infrastructure aligns with business objectives, improves performance, and supports future growth. Strategic Planning & Architecture: Develop and implement long-term network strategies aligned with business goals. Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in network infrastructure. Design high-level network architectures to ensure scalability, security, and resilience. 2. Program & Project Management: Oversee large-scale network projects, including upgrades, expansions, and migrations. Define project scope, objectives, budgets, and timelines, ensuring successful execution. Manage cross-functional teams, including network engineers, vendors, and security experts. 3. Network Optimization & Performance: Analyze current network performance and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability. Optimize bandwidth, cloud connectivity, and hybrid network environments. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and enhance network operations. 4. Security & Compliance: Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate security best practices into network strategy. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR) and company policies. Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network resilience. 5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Engage with network service providers, equipment vendors, and cloud partners for procurement and support. Act as a liaison between IT, business units, and executive leadership to align network strategy with company goals. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to optimize costs and servicelevels. 6. Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Evaluate advancements such as SD-WAN, 5G, AI-driven networking, and edge computing. Develop roadmaps for transitioning to modern network solutions like cloud networking or intent-based networking. Drive automation initiatives to enhance network efficiency and reduce manual operations. 7.
