This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data storytelling by designing and delivering intuitive, impactful, and scalable dashboards that drive data-informed decisions across the organization. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and has a passion for creating user-centric visual analytics solutions.Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain reliable and insightful Looker dashboards, often from wireframe to full deployment. Translate business requirements into technical tasks and analytical solutions. Create and enforce LookML coding standards, style guides, and reusable components for development consistency. Maintain the health of LookML projects using tools such as Content Validator, Audit, and Unit Testing. Enhance and refactor existing Looker projects to support new reporting and visualization needs. Leverage LookML parameters to optimize the end-user experience. Implement data security and user access control via Access Filters, and Field/Row Level Permissions. Optimize performance by implementing persistent derived tables (PDTs) and appropriate caching strategies. Collaborate with data engineers to design scalable and efficient data models. Mentor and support other team members on Looker best practices and capabilities. Participate in continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) processes, leveraging git for version control. Ensure dashboards and models integrate smoothly with BigQuery and other underlying data systems. Work within a collaborative team environment while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in developing data visualizations, including 5+ years specifically with Looker. Demonstrated expert-level Looker and LookML experience. Strong SQL skills and experience with data analysis in large datasets. Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or equivalent field. Full professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Experience working with BigQuery, Unix-based systems (macOS or Linux). Familiarity with git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data development workflows. Strong collaboration and communication skills with a track record of cross-functional teamwork.Desirable Attributes: Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced, and evolving environments. Proven multi-tasking abilities and experience managing competing deadlines. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience mentoring or training other developers in Looker development.
