The role involves technical delivery of high-profile strategic projects and BAU initiatives across firewall and IDS/IPS platforms, with a commitment to risk-free execution, adherence to standards, and robust change management processes.Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute release and deployment projects involving perimeter security systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS) with zero impact to production environments. Perform technical assessments, develop execution plans, schedule, and implement changes aligned with network security standards. Review and execute detailed implementation plans, validation procedures, UAT acceptance criteria, and back-out strategies. Ensure compliance through quality assurance functions and risk mitigation practices before implementation. Build and manage firewall platforms including Fortinet, Check Point, and TippingPoint IDS/IPS, including related management systems. Collaborate with Design Engineering and Architecture teams to address technical concerns and adopt new technologies. Support disaster recovery planning and execution, infrastructure migrations, decommissions, and capacity expansion. Maintain all project close-out activities including asset tracking, documentation, and database updates. Contribute to process automation, operational improvements, and cross-functional knowledge sharing. Work on night and weekend implementations as required. Understand and support DMZ networking, Cisco routing/switching, and secure perimeter operations.Essential Skills and Qualifications: 8+ years of hands-on experience in firewall solutions (building from scratch, upgrades, migrations). Expertise in Fortinet, Check Point, and TippingPoint firewall/IDS/IPS platforms. Strong knowledge of Python, Unix/Linux administration, and network security fundamentals. Experience developing CI/CD pipelines or scripting for automation (e.g., Python, ). Proficiency with Git, JIRA, ServiceNow, and change/incident management processes. Ability to create and review technical documentation, implementation guides, and network diagrams. Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects with varying priorities and timelines. Excellent oral and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all organizational levels.Desirable Skills: Experience with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and Check Point SmartConsole/Provider-1 tools. Strong background in network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, FTP, DNS, NTP, etc.) and DMZ architecture. In-depth understanding of routing/switching protocols and LAN/WAN configurations. Familiarity with ANYCAST services and high-availability firewall architectures. Experience in banking or other regulated industries with strong risk management practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
