Candidate must understand all aspects of developing and deploying a web application, including creating UI components, fetching and processing data from network services, creating unit and functional tests, setting up web servers, and deploying web applications using automated tooling. Candidate must understand how to instill product quality at every level. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in science or engineering. 5+ years experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS front-end development work. 2+ years experience with TypeScript. 2+ years experience with React and Redux, or similar JS frameworks. 2+ years experience working on a team creating a large web application. 2+ years experience working with JavaScript asynchronous features including Promises and Async-Await. Must Have Must be strongly familiar with Browser Developer tools for setting breakpoints and debugging code. Must be strongly familiar with writing and debugging network APIs. Must be strongly familiar with using Source Code Repositories such as BitBucket or GitHub and created structured Pull Requests. Must be strongly familiar with Web Browser built in capabilities for local storage, media devices, audio/video processing, geolocation, etc. Must be strongly familiar with software algorithms, code complexity, and how to write small, efficient, well-documented code. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Familiar with other object-oriented programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or Python. 2. Familiar with NodeJS and creating NPM scripts. 3. Familiar with ElectronJS and making desktop applications from web code. 4. Familiar with large Web projects building, bundling and deploying. 5. Familiar with several popular JavaScript Frameworks: React, Angular 2+, Vue, Svelte, etc. 6. Familiarity with browser WebRTC communications library. 7. Familiarity with WebServer setup, configuration and deployment. 8. Familiarity with Agile project management techniques and processes. Candidate should be familiar with estimating project effort. 9. Familiarity with good software testing processes. 10. Familiarity writing project stories or bug reports which capture enough detail to easily hand off to another developer to work on. 11. Self-starter. Candidate will work from Jira tickets detailing the work that needs to be created or the problem that needs to be fixed. We have a large, complex code base, and the Candidate will need to quickly learn their own way through the code after having been given initial introductions and tutoring. Candidate is expected to deliver a well-written, well-tested solution within a reasonable amount of time, without requiring too much assistance.
