Job Title: Mechanical CAD Engineer Sheet Metal & Weldments
Location: Everett, WA (Onsite)Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical CAD Engineer with hands-on experience in sheet metal and weldment design, inspection, and documentation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks, Creo, or Pro Engineer) and skilled in interpreting and updating mechanical drawings. This role involves close collaboration with design and production teams to ensure product accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.Key Responsibilities:

Measure and inspect golden sample sheet metal and weldment parts to ensure they meet engineering design specifications.

Utilize appropriate measurement tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to assess dimensional accuracy.

Read, interpret, and validate mechanical drawings, ensuring design intent is clearly captured and communicated.

Update and revise CAD models and engineering drawings in SolidWorks, Creo, or Pro Engineer to reflect actual measurements and design improvements.

Support design verification activities and documentation updates during prototype and production phases.

Work collaboratively with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.

Ensure all technical documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company standards.Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university.

24 years of hands-on engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred), with working knowledge of Creo or Pro Engineer being a plus.

Strong experience in inspection and measurement of sheet metal and weldment parts.

Ability to read, analyze, and modify 2D mechanical drawings and 3D models.

Familiarity with engineering change processes and documentation standards.Essential Skills:

Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Effective communication and documentation skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Desirable Skills:

Experience working with PLM or PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM).

Knowledge of manufacturing processes for sheet metal and welding.

Basic understanding of quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.Competency Areas:
