Role: Senior Cobol Developer Location: Norfolk, VA, Mason, OH, or Atlanta, GA (Day 1 onsite on Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description:* In addition to below, these consultants will need to be well versed in production support. General Summary The Sr. COBOL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and testing solutions on the AS400 platform for various project deliverables. They would lead system analysis and design sessions in collaboration with business and operational analysts across various functional areas. The candidate would participate across all areas of the Software Development Life Cycle including defect resolution, deployment and postproduction support. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1. Analyze, design, develop & implement changes to the Beacon AS400 application platform. 2. Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products. 3. Define and propose solutions for enhancements and system changes. 4. Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. 5. Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines and provide project status. 6. Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly. 7. Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily sprint meetings). 8. Provide on-going production support for the Beacon AS400 application platform. 9. Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, and audit. 10. Support SOX and IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance. 11. Create and update the appropriate system documentation.
