Job Title: EMS Application Engineer (NERC Certified)
Location: Waltham,MA (Onsite)Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled EMS Application Engineer with NERC certification and extensive experience in Power Systems Engineering to join our Energy Solutions team. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in EMS application development, network modeling, and real-time data integration, with hands-on experience in SCADA/EMS/DMS platforms used across the Transmission and Distribution domain. Knowledge of DERMS applications and multi-vendor platforms (e.g., GE, Hitachi, OSII, SE) will be considered a strong advantage.Key Responsibilities:

Provide domain expertise in EMS application engineering including Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, and Optimal Power Flow (OPF).

Analyze and resolve functional issues in EMS applications by developing workarounds in collaboration with business stakeholders.

Troubleshoot data quality, RTU communication, and network model issues in real-time systems.

Ensure timely resolution of incidents impacting system performance and availability.

Design and configure network models, databases, and SCADA displays for new IEDs and ICCP data points.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver EMS solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements.

Support EMS architecture, including security considerations, integration strategies, and system reliability.

Participate in and support global delivery models involving onshore and offshore teams.

Work with business users to align functional designs with business requirements.Essential Skills & Qualifications:

NERC Certified (mandatory)

Deep understanding of EMS applications such as Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, OPF

Strong working knowledge of network models, SCADA data, and databases

Experience in Transmission & Distribution domain within utilities

Proficiency in integration technologies relevant to SCADA/EMS/DMS

Understanding of EMS architecture, including security models

Knowledge of software development methodologies like Waterfall and Agile

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skillsDesirable Skills:

Experience with major EMS product vendors: GE, Hitachi, OSII, SE

Familiarity with DERMS (Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems)

Prior experience working with ICCP and IEDs

Ability to design, validate, and test data and integration requirementsCompetencies:
