Role: Performance Testing Lead Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite) Local only Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Performance Testing SDET to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing performance and load tests to ensure the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of our applications. You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to identify performance bottlenecks and drive improvements. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement performance testing strategies for web and backend systems. Develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools like JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or k6. Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to development and infrastructure teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define performance benchmarks and SLAs. Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Monitor system performance in production and assist in root cause analysis of performance issues. Create detailed documentation and reports on performance test results and recommendations. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in performance testing and automation. Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar. Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, k6). Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or Dynatrace. Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Solid understanding of system architecture, databases, and network protocols. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of profiling tools and techniques. Cloud certification is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
