Will manage/maintain, configure and install adaptable database systems (ADABAS) Provide 24x7/365 remote support services and on-premises facility response as needed. Utilize IBM's SMP/E software products installation and maintenance utility process. Utilize IBM's Job Control Language (JCL) and utility programs (i.e. IEBGENER) to maintain z/OS software products. Utilize IBM's file structure(s): (i.e. HFS, ZFS, and PDS's). Utilize TSO ISPF panels. Utilize IBM's SDSF and/or equivalent ISV product. Utilize IBM data storage product DFSMS. Technical consulting and analysis of new technologies, implementation strategy, and impact to production. Independently diagnose and resolve trouble calls in technical areas. Develop technical specifications, in accordance with established requirements and schedules. Develop and implement technical documentation, in accordance with established requirements and schedules. Review proposed policy, regulations, and procedural changes to determine impact on area of responsibility. Develop on the job training (OJT) programs on new developments in technology and software packages. Participates in Agile project management and a DevSecOps culture as required Mainframe System Services: DISC uses IBM systems. Installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance z/OS Systems, currently running z/OS 2.4 IODF Firmware upgrades COTS software support Database infrastructure / engineering (Not DBA) work includes (DB2, IDMS, ADABAS, may change as requirements change) Mainframe networking (from the mainframe side) Pagent encryption setup / configuration SSH, TLS, sFTP, FTPs, BMC Control-M Essential Skills, Experience, and Certifications: As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or have official legal status in the United States. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions. 4-6 years of experience Must have Demonstrated System programmer experience managing / maintaining and installing of Integrated Database Management Systems (IDMS). Proven System programmer experience managing / maintaining and installing adaptable database systems (ADABAS) Strong written and oral communication skills in the English language. All contractor employees must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Contractor personnel performing in a leadership capacity shall be capable of directing contractor personnel and interfacing with the Government and customers. Exceptional customer service skills. Strong time-management and prioritization skills. Ability to communicate applicable technical subject matter expertise to management and others. DISC follows the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service operation best practices and requires the following: ITIL v4 foundation certification within 6 months of hire Ability to apply and provide feedback on service operation model and practices. Work Environment: Team supports the z/OS system - installing new hardware/operating upgrades The team is industry generic - base level of machine and OS providing service to everyone else If the program and programmer needed an assist, they go to a DBA, if the DBA has trouble, they go to this team - they are the last line of defense of before IBM Needs to know how to/have experience with Installing IDMS, then Adabas (install) is secondary Qualifying questions: Questions: What versions of ADABAS and Mainframe OS they are familiar with What is their wheelhouse as it relates to IDMS and ADABAS: o Are the more on the Install, configuration and maintenance side, App development side or the Database Admin side They need to be Install, Config, Keywords: cprogramm zos information technology golang |
