Position: COBOL Developer 100% Remote Role Location: 100% Remote (Austin,TX) Duration: 13 Months Job Description: One of our larger clients has an immediate need for a COBOL Developer. Our client has legacy COBOL applications and is going through a modernization effort with the long-term goal of replacing all functionality with Microsoft technology. During this process the client will be actively involved in the following activities: Implementation of existing legacy COBOL system functionality into Microsoft Migration of legacy COBOL systems from state managed data center to a cloud-based platform Integration of legacy COBOL systems with implemented Microsoft systems Maintenance of legacy COBOL systems This is a multi-year engagement and requires an experienced COBOL developer, with preferred experience in modernization of legacy applications and integration of legacy applications with cloud-based solutions. This will be a remote position with a preference for Texas based developers. Our client is in the public safety and law enforcement industry and so all candidates must pass a criminal background and fingerprint check. To be considered for this role, you must have at least 8 years of experience in COBOL development and a history of long-term project engagements. Minimum (Required): Years Skills/Experience 8 COBOL mainframe development experience 3+ Microfocus COBOL development experience DB2 Job Control Language SQL writing and tuning. TSO.
