Title            :        QA Lead

Location     :      Austin, TX; Remote  

Duration   :         12 month contract

Minimum Requirements and Wow Factors: 6-10 years experience, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field

MUST HAVE: 10+ years of working as QA engineer with hands on application testing manual and test automation/framework in an Agile development environment, Good understanding of Databases: IBM DB2, SQL database, MongoDb

What you have:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field

10+ years of working as QA engineer with hands on application testing manual and test automation / framework in an Agile development environment

Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA members and Business teams

Working knowledge of Agile, Iterative development process

Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Experience with Agile Methodologies, Collaboration Tools (JIRA, Confluence)

Ability to effectively persuade, negotiate and influence all levels of staff; excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills

Good understanding of Databases: IBM DB2, SQL database, MongoDb

Experience in developing and implementing Process Improvements

Provide guidance around test automation strategy

Liaison between agile team and Enterprise Quality Assurance team

Educate teammates on the appropriate use of different testing methodologies and tools

Participate in QA continuous improvement efforts

Become knowledgeable in the technologies used by the Core Technologies Group

What youre good at

Strong technical understanding of domain capabilities

Responsible for ensuring QA delivery, Status Reporting, Test Plans, Test Cases, Scripts, Results, Test Readiness Reviews, post-implementation Reviews. Where appropriate review and approve test plans ensuring alignment with standards and Governance

Mentor peers and staff on test engineering for QA, network with other teams within Schwab and derive best practices for continuous improvement.

Experience working with resources in different geographical locations

Working knowledge of Agile, Iterative development process is essential

Collaborate with technology, Business, and platform teams to implement testing Best practices

Partner with the Test Environment team

Good Understanding of defect tracking mechanism

Ability to work with Cross Functional teams within Schwab

Nice to Have:

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with remote and globally distributed teams.

Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team

Ensuring technology tradeoffs are effectively communicated to the business partners.

Process and SDLC: Experience in working with Agile methodologies and iterative development/testing environments
