Role: RPG Developer Location: Remote VISA:NO H1B Manager Notes: RPG Developer Free Form ILE Experience Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Bamboo (would translate) (most RPG dont use Git)willing to learn or FAMILIARITY On call rotation once traineddo not receive many after hour calls Interview Questions: -DB2 Experience -Ability to automate user settings Responsibilities: Work closely with the software development team to analyze, design, develop, and unit test on mid-sized core ERP applications that meet business requirements and stay within forecasted budget. Debug, modify, and improve the performance of existing production applications. Resolve complex software issues across multiple software applications and interfaces. Independently document own code and produces technical design documentation. Communicate clearly and present to the team, management, and stakeholders where appropriate. Create and maintain an effective working relationship between business users and IT. Assist less experienced team members on application design and development. Participate in the on-call system support rotation. Assist with task automation and process improvements as directed. Support of production and non-production system environments and new deployments. Perform additional tasks as requested by the manager. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering/Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of overall application development experience. Must have 3+ years of RPG coding experience. Hands-on experience with eCMS Construction Management System Software a definite plus. Proficient on the IBM iSeries platform. Experience with Job Scheduling Packages, FTP, SQL, and DB2 preferred. Experienced professional with a general understanding of area of specialization. Basic understanding of various departments within the organization and IT utilization of each. Adherence to internal policies and procedures (standards, controls, and metrics). Ability to use basic knowledge of professional concepts and company objectives to resolve simple to moderately complex issues in creative and effective ways. Strong organizational skills including the ability to develop strategies and work plans for own tasks. Proficient at preparing and delivering informal presentations to own team when required. Proactively seeks training and developmental activities related to the industry. Comfortable with escalating complex issues, as needed; follows established escalation procedures.
