These roles are backfills due to retirements and attrition, and previous applicants will not be considered. The ideal candidates should have strong experience in COBOL and SQLwhile some rustiness in COBOL is acceptable, applicants must be capable of working independently without extensive retraining. Additionally, AWS experience is a plus, as the team is transitioning to a cloud-based environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL, DB2, and CICS. Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries to support system functionality. Participate in programming, architectural, and analytical tasks. Assist in migrating and supporting legacy systems in an AWS cloud environment. Develop and execute unit tests and functional test coverage for assigned coding changes. Conduct application testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure system integrity. Adhere to coding standards, data control practices, and error-detection techniques. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure high-quality solutions. Document all code changes and development activities. Provide 24/7 rotating on-call support for production systems, including incident and problem management, bug fixes, patches, and system upgrades. Required Skills & Experience: Proficiency in COBOL (must be able to work independently; no extensive retraining). Strong SQL skills with experience in DB2 databases. Familiarity with CICS programming. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (1 day per week in-office). Strong documentation skills and adherence to software development best practices. Preferred Skills: AWS experience or cloud migration knowledge. Understanding of CI/CS (Continuous Integration/Continuous Support) processes. Familiarity with version control and repository management.
