As lead Business Analyst in an Industrialized Agile development environment, they will be responsible for: Developing and driving best in class market payment and Custody account modeling Ensuring proper assessment of complex intraday liquidity data systems infrastructure, and serving as the subject matter expert by developing a deep understanding of all liquidity model data, uses cases, and changes that may impact downstream scenarios Working with cross-functional Business and Operations teams to ensure functional and accurate model implementation by thoroughly reviewing all available documentation, coordinating the work of others, and analyzing test results of all model methodology changes proposed by various parties Designing and executing complex data analysis and database query approaches as needed to assess market payment and demand deposit accounting data Understanding the lifecycle of transaction flows, and preparing complex data mapping to establish accurate running balances under a variety of market circumstances Defining and documenting data lineage and data quality checks for aggregation transformation and reporting Translating requirements documents into technical specification instructions for developers with focus on quality and attention to detail Working closely with Development team, engaging in technical analysis of proposed coding logic Working closely with Testing team, brainstorming test scenarios and test cases to ensure thorough testing for expected outcomes, negative cases, regression scrutiny and identification of unexpected outcomes (where familiarity with automation approaches would be an asset in this) Scrutinizing test results in advance of Product Owner demonstrations, and recommending approval/rejection of stories Working closely with Business and Operations teams, investigating production issues, report anomalies and failures in join logic; conducting open-ended analysis of new data sources; and identifying subtle patterns in transactional data to propose potential criteria for new join logic Continually striving to achieve the highest possible degree of accuracy in regulatory reporting, revisiting join logic to accommodate new scenario anomalies Conducting detailed post-deployment checkout for new code releases Preparing presentation materials to share findings from analysis with senior management Managing competing priorities, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks Additionally, the position will also: Work closely with model owners, users, senior management and other Business/Operations units to understand business needs and conditions Conduct complex financial modeling used to derive sound assumption sets and build towards business conclusions Be able to blend rigorous quantitative analysis with qualitative insights from business units Apply knowledge/skills handling complex problems and/or coordinate work which may extend beyond own area of expertise sharing findings and expertise with colleagues in other departments Nice to have: o Defining and documenting data lineage and data quality checks for aggregation transformation and reporting o Scrutinizing test results in advance of Product Owner demonstrations, and recommending approval/rejection of stories as active participant in demo meetings with PO o Conducting detailed post-deployment checkout for new code releases o Preparing presentation materials to share findings from analysis with senior management o Continually striving to achieve the highest possible degree of accuracy in regulatory reporting; having a demonstrated ability to deliver thorough requirements to accommodate new scenario anomalies Must have: o Working closely to meet Agile team's demands in business requirement and clarifications working with Development team (engaging in technical analysis of proposed coding logic) and Testing team (brainstorming test scenarios and test cases to ensure thorough testing for expected outcomes, negative cases, regression scrutiny and identification of unexpected outcomes (where familiarity with automation approaches would be an asset in this)) o Understanding the lifecycle of transaction flows, and preparing complex data mapping to establish accurate running balances under a variety of market circumstances; designing and executing complex data analysis and database query approaches as needed to assess market payment and demand deposit accounting data o Working closely with Business and Operations teams, investigating report anomalies and failures in join logic; conducting open-ended analysis of new data sources and identifying subtle patterns in transactional data to propose potential criteria for new join logic o This role is supporting the Client 248 Intraday Liquidity project within Corporate Systems. Client 248 has been the firm's leading data solution for monitoring, measuring and managing intraday liquidity. Our mission is to strengthen visibility into daily inflows and outflows of cash - critical to optimizing the balance sheet of a custody bank. Intraday liquidity management continues to be an area of heightened focus for global regulators as an emerging and complicated segment of liquidity management. Qualifications: Very strong SQL query expertise (with database warehouse/repositories for reporting systems) Excellent Microsoft Office skills are required especially Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word and MS Outlook A working knowledge of Rational Team Concert (RTC) would be a plus A broad-based technology background is key someone who is familiar with modelling data, BI/visualization tools and databases, and a person that has a history of understanding and absorbing business and technology concepts quickly Degree in Financial Engineering, Math, Statistics, or other relevant quantitative fields, with a high proficiency in time series analysis and financial modeling 6-8 years of Intraday Liquidity, or quantitative experience in large, complex financial institutions, with demonstrated use of a variety of mathematical/application tools to perform appropriate analysis Domain knowledge in Financial Services, especially Custody rather than Retail Banking A solid awareness of data governance, data management/cataloging principles and data pipeline creation (assessing scalability for potential new sources); experience in data profiling, data conversion, data quality and data governance is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to articulate ideas, analysis and complex concepts effectively to broad audiences; familiarity with process maps, diagrams and other methods for translating conceptual business elements into practical system capabilities Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) is required A demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects as well as the ability to be a team player in a fast-paced, high-energy level environment Competence and confidence to gain credibility and collaborate for success across the organization Significant benefit: 4-6 years of working directly with Enterprise Solution Platform (ESP), as well as Spotfire dashboard tools 6-8 years of experience, minimum |
