You will be performing highly complex network engineering work and will operate, monitor, and manage network infrastructure. If elected, your duties and responsibilities may also include, but not be limited to, the following: Designing, implementing, managing, and providing operational support of Network Infrastructure. Assessing existing network configurations and making recommendations based on product specifications. Configuring equipment and software to meet business needs, training others on the solution, and documenting the solution for ongoing support. Functioning as part of a team on larger projects, or individually providing the services on support visits or smaller projects. Providing technical support and assisting with the design of network solutions. Providing technical services and support in network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.). Minimum Requirements : 8 yrs. experience with installing networking technologies and supporting networks. 8 yrs. experience in network engineering, supporting enterprise network IT infrastructure design, implementation, operational maintenance & support. 8 yrs. experience operating, monitoring, and managing network infrastructure. 8 yrs. experience configuring network equipment and software. 8 yrs. experience training others on the solution and providing documentation on the solution for ongoing support. 8 yrs. experience functioning as part of a team on larger projects, or individually providing the services on support visits or smaller projects. 8 yrs. experience with network monitoring & administration 8 yrs. experience with network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.). 8 yrs. experience with IP subnetting, Telnet/SSH Clients, Raritan or Terminal Server Remote Access 8 yrs. experience providing technical support and assisting with the design of network solutions. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major in computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or related field plus a minimum of five (5) years experience in telecommunications network problem resolution activities. Preferred Qualification(s) : 2 yrs. network administration experience with a Texas State Agency. 2 yrs. experience with Cisco ASA and Fortinet firewalls Proficiency with network monitoring & administration tools such as Solar Winds, Splunk, Tivoli Netcool/Omnibus, NNMi, Netscout Infinistream and various Protocol Analyzers.
