Job Description Job Title : Data Architect Job Role: Data Architect Location: Remote EST OR CST only Visa: Any visa except H1B & CPT Location: Huntsville, TX (Remote, it is a remote opportunity, but the chosen candidate would need to work in Huntsville, Texas for the first month) Allied Consultants is an Austin based information technology staffing firm serving Texas government clients. One of our larger clients has an immediate need for a senior data architect. Our client will be modernizing their legacy and web-based application systems during the next 3 years to a Microsoft platform. This modernization is occurring in phases and requires a data architect who will help establish data governance standards and policies for the agency and for the modernization project. In addition to this, the data architect will perform the following: Lead the team to understand the current data environment and define the long-term enterprise data strategy, roadmap for data management and governance program Plan and Lead discovery sessions with various stakeholders across the organization to understand the current data environment Create documentation of the current state, data strategy for data management and governance program Define the data governance standards and policies, data governance structure and facilitate to implement the same across the agency Define Data Stewardship activities, standards for metadata Define the process for data access, and data security standards with appropriate controls Define the Data Quality program goals, approach and implementation strategy; Execute the same across the business units Engage with the executive team to define the data strategy that aligns with the organizational vision and goals Engage with all levels of stakeholders across the organization to bring awareness to the data initiatives and drive the adoption Evaluate tools for data governance, and data quality, Driving the adoption of the selected tool across the organization Work with team to map fields from legacy applications to new software solutions Aid in transfer of data with Service Bus as needed Providing data management across all data management verticals, including data governance, data architecture, data quality, master data management, data integration, data warehouse and analytics for the modernization project Creating a Data analytics environment, creating reports, dashboards and predictive analytics This is a multi-year engagement and requires an experienced data architect. This is a remote opportunity but during the first month of the engagement it will require the data architect to report to the project team in Huntsville Texas. Once this is completed, the data architect will be able to work remotely. Our client is in the public safety and law enforcement industry and so all candidates must pass a criminal background and fingerprint check. To be considered for this role, you must have at least 8 years of experience as a data architect and a history of long-term project engagements.
