Role Overview: We are seeking a Business Systems Data Analyst (not a general Business Analyst) with strong technical expertise in SQL, data warehousing, and healthcare domain data. This role bridges business and technical teams, requiring the ability to analyze data structures, create mapping documents, and translate complex business rules into ETL and database requirements. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to define, analyze, and document business and data requirements for data warehouse solutions. Develop detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) and Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documentation. Perform complex SQL-based data analysis, validation, and profiling across multiple data sources and systems. Collaborate with data modelers and ETL developers to ensure proper table design and data flow. Validate data during testing and post-deployment, ensuring data integrity and quality. Provide support for testing, data validation, and production readiness activities. Required Skills & Experience (68 years minimum): Strong Business Systems Analysis background translating business rules into technical data requirements Expert-level SQL (writing and optimizing complex queries across multiple tables) Proven data mapping, profiling, and analysis experience in a data warehouse or ETL environment Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts (dimensions, facts, data models, transformations) Healthcare domain experience particularly with claims, eligibility, provider, or member data Strong documentation skills BRDs, FRDs, and Source-to-Target Mappings Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Independence Blue Cross or other payer organizations Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, etc.) Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data standards Important Distinction: This is not a traditional Business Analyst role focused on process or reporting. We need a technical Business Systems Analyst who can work hands-on with SQL and data within a healthcare data warehouse environment.
