Project Details: The client is looking for a mid-senior level Network Engineer who would be tasked with delivering, coordinating & implementing a wireless network at a remote site/new office that Wynn owns in the Boston area. Once thats complete, theyd be tasked with day-to-day operations & maintenance of the network. This would include documentation, etc. General Notes from the call: 2 work locations- 3 Charlton and 1 Broadway Street (both in Everett, MA and half a mile away from each other) Initial work done at the Wynn Encore Casino (first two weeks) Onsite requirement for the first month- Hybrid work available down the line Network Engineer will work with a team of 3 network engineers Mid- senior level required because there will be minimal supervision Experience with Extreme Networks is essential/highly preferred because other networks like Cisco, Juniper have different protocols and demands; Avaya would be the most comparable Typical Daily Duties: Deployment of switches Break, fix, troubleshooting etc. Wifi initiaves- extending network in dead spots ABOUT ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort that features 671 hotel rooms with sweeping views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Troubleshoots Routers and Switches in a service provider environment. * Develops configuration, test plan/execution, and deployment for networking services. * Configures, implements, and supports Avaya Network (now Extreme) gear. * Manages and provisions Palo Alto configuration and firewall rule crafting. * Works with management team and property staff to discuss system requirements, proposed changes, priorities, schedules, and service standards; * Works with the IT team to achieve strategic, long range goals; consults with the IT Network Manager on equipment performance, output quality, and maintenance schedule. * Manages the administration, maintenance and security of the network infrastructure. * Directs the configuration and set-up of all new network equipment. * Manages firewall administration and overall internal network security. * Provides basic operational support for internal team member computer systems * Identify inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems and recommend solutions. Develop system specifications. * Implements system changes through automation, process change and training. * Conducts diagnostic investigations of network equipment errors and implement or recommend solutions or methodologies for resolution. * Develops Requests for Proposals (RFP). Negotiates and manages vendor contracts for Information Technology services. * Prepares various documentation including project reports, process and user manuals, presentations, strategic and technical plans and other related information on assigned application analyses. * Create/update system documentation and network diagrams * Consults with vendors regarding system functionality, setup and maintenance. JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school or equivalent degree required. Bachelors Degree Computer Science or in a related field and minimum 6 years equivalent hands-on experience preferred. Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio. Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail. Certification and/or experience with the following systems a plus: Avaya Networking and PBX, Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper routers, VMWare NSX and Extreme Wing wireless. A thorough understanding of TCP/IP, tcpdump, wireshark, routing and routed protocols. Experience implementing and configuration of Extreme Network gear. Extreme Networks ECS Certification is desired.
