Role: Azure Cloud Architect Location: Tallahassee, Florida Duration: 6 Months Client: Florida State Client Job ID#: FL-RFQOATS-222366 Description The Contractor will provide one experienced Systems Architect for the Departments Office of Agriculture Technology Services (OATS), Bureau of Infrastructure and Operations, to manage the planning, design, development, and implementation of a Cloud Migration Initiative. The Systems Architect will aid the agency in its efforts to reduce the on-premises server footprint by assessing and recommending which resources, servers and applications are primed for cloud migration. Duties Prepare a detailed Cloud Migration Plan for each server, group of servers, systems, or applications that will be migrated to the cloud based on the analysis of the Departments OnPremises Infrastructure and the Azure Government and Commercial Tenants. The plan must cover how the program will be implemented and maintained to ensure success. Submit the Cloud Migration Plan to the Departments Chief of Infrastructure and Operations for review. The scope of services or migration plan as well as the migration itself may include but not be limited to the following: the identified assets that are suitable candidates to migrate the benefit of migrating suitable candidates the identified assets that are not suitable candidates to migrate strategic migration plan migration tools needed migration timeline cost analysis of migration backup strategy for migrated assets monitoring system(s) for post-migrated assets best practices recommended by Microsoft step by step procedure to migrate and maintain FDACS assets step by step procedure to deploy, configure and maintain Azure Native applications and services step by step procedure to deploy, configure and maintain third-party applications and appliances in Azure Review the Departments current Azure Tenant design and configuration. Provide a report to communicate if the design is appropriate and/or if changes are needed. If changes are needed ensure proposed modifications follow Microsofts Best Practices. Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise. Populate and maintain Weekly Status Reports throughout the PO term to communicate relevant information to the OATS Management Team and Stakeholders efficiently. At a minimum, the status reports must include: Use of proper grammar and consistent font styles Tasks completed and in progress as of the status date Number of hours expended by the Systems Architect. Comply with OATS Administrative Policies and Procedures by working directly with the Departments Contract Manager throughout the contract term. RFQ OATS 22 23 66 Cloud System Architect Produce detailed documentation for any Azure native resource deployed including, but not limited to, Load Balancer, Virtual Network, Firewall, Storage, API, App Registration, Third Party Appliances, Monitoring, Peering, Workbooks. Oversee and manage the development and storage of project technical documentation. Ensure work performed complies with the OATS policies, procedures, and technical standards provided by the Departments Contract Manager, and that the technical documentation facilitates the transfer of knowledge to Department staff that is necessary to maintain the system(s). Work with Functional Managers to obtain and maintain resources as required by the Departments Contract Manager. Work with the Infrastructure and Operations Team in the execution of tasks and activities outlined in the Azure Migration Plan. Mandatory Requirements Experience (10+ Years) Requirements This is an 100% onsite. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. A minimum of 7 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/systems environments performing systems planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software) and optimization. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with Department staff. Experience designing and configuring cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Experience configuring and administering Windows operating systems (2016 and above). Experience administering Exchange Server (2013 and above). Preferred Skills Microsoft Azure Administrator and Microsoft Azure Architect Certification Experience assessing and designing Cloud migration strategies. Ability to read, write and interpret technical specifications and complex flow charts Successful completion of Data Center cloud migration projects. Experience with Azure Migrate Experience with Azure Data Services. Strong understanding of features and capabilities of the Microsoft Cloud Platform. Experience configuring Azure monitor, Log Analytics, and Alerts. Experience with Microsoft Azure backup strategies. Experience with containerized applications.
