Creates and revises Data Integration Modeling standards and guidelines. Job Description Information Modeling -- Signs-off on Data Integration Model peer reviewed documents to ensure consistency across model subject areas. Ensures that the logical enterprise information model (EIM) is updated with entity and attribute definitions. Accountable for Modeler related deliverables to be completed on time and with accuracy. Handles escalated project issues for the purpose of resolving them in a timely manner. Data Vault Modeling on Snowflake platform - We have an initiative of building warehouse layer using Data Vault technique on Snowflake platform. Its an exciting new initiative where in Data Modelers will play a key role in designing the raw historical and business data vault with an Industry standard health care model as reference Requirements Analysis -- Analyzes data through screens, reports, and source extracts in order to verify assumptions that come out of dialog with the business. Communicates with mid-level business managers to confirm logical model based on data requirements. Interfaces with Project Manager and ISDS management to interpret data needs and provide input on impact of requirements and changes. Reviews business and analytic requirements in order to capture business rules for logical to physical mapping that will be used by IS to create code to transform raw data into useful information as well as validate and refine data requirements. Architecture Participates in ISDS project specific architectural working groups in order to provide expertise in modeling. Mapping -- Performs mapping between source and target data, as well as performing logical model to physical model mapping and mapping from third normal form to dimensional (presentation layer). Standard Query Language -- Generates first cut physical model DDL and SQL for views for implementation by the DBA. The SQL must be written to optimize views based on the database engine used. Documentation -- Provides project status to the team so that everyone understands the percent completeness of assigned data modeler tasks. Standards & Process -- Mentors Integration Data Modelers with development of conceptual, logical and first cut physical models in order to provide oversight of and to maintain integrity. Provides Data Integration Modeling estimates and refines as necessary throughout the system development life cycle for the purpose of scheduling work. Assists in creating and revising Data Integration Modeling standards and guidelines. Leads the timely resolution of data modeling issues and problems to ensure that no issues get overlooked because one of the team members is overloaded. Knowledge Sharing -- Provides input to performance reviews of Data Integration Modelers for the purpose of assisting those resources in the training and knowledge transfer to perform their jobs as well as providing job action input to management to assist in staff evaluations. Provides knowledge transfer to other data integration modelers and architects on staff (internal or external) to ensure that knowledge is shared and not concentrated in one or two people, putting the enterprise at risk. Hiring Requirements Bachelors degree 5 years of IT experience with 3 years training in data modeling principles (including Normalization, Dimensional and UML modeling) and business process relationships In lieu of degree, 7 years IS experience with 5 years training in data modeling principles (including Normalization, Dimensional and UML modeling) and business process relationships 2 years experience creating logical models in a data warehouse environment Hiring Preferences 1 year or more experience leading other data modelers in a successful full life-cycle enterprise data warehousing effort 2 years experience with Healthcare data preferred Experience in leading, instructing, directing, assigning and checking the work of others Proven leadership skills (the ability to motivate a group of people to achieve a common goal) Experience in data warehousing preferred Experience working on a Teradata platform preferred Good understanding of project management methodologies Strong working knowledge of ERWin or similar data modeling tool Strong working knowledge of ER/Objects/Dimensional modeling concepts Demonstrated ability to plan and to manage oneself to that plan Demonstrated ability to focus on customer needs, business processes and relationships of customer data required Demonstrated ability to achieve and be accountable for timely delivery of data modeling results that support business needs required Keywords: information technology green card North Carolina |
