As a Senior Principal Software Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing innovative healthcare solutions within connected Infusion Pump platforms, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and meeting customer needs. Key Responsibilities Drive the implementation of best practices in software systems development and product lifecycle management in collaboration with development and verification teams. Serve as a technical leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to team members. Develop and deliver high-quality technical solutions to complex software system challenges under tight timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Clinical, etc.) to document user needs and translate them into system and software requirements. Lead the decomposition of system requirements into software subsystem requirements. Lead risk analysis activities for Digital Applications software, from hazard identification through mitigation implementation. Partner with verification engineers to define test strategies, including verification and validation plans with requirements traceability. Participate in software design reviews for components and features. Perform product backlog grooming and feature definition as part of Agile planning and execution. Drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders while promoting improved processes, practices, and technical mentorship. Interface with manufacturing, service, and customer training teams during the design transfer process. Ensure full compliance with the product development process and quality system requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience. Subject matter expertise in requirements management and risk management for complex, regulated medical systems. Experience working in Agile development environments, including creating and maintaining product backlogs. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong documentation skills. Experience in a regulated industry (medical devices preferred). Preferred Qualifications Experience with Digital Applications (SaMD, MDDS) connected to regulated electro-mechanical medical devices in a clinical environment. Experience with connected/interoperable systems in healthcare technology.
