Preferred: Experience with Infrastructure system refreshes / upgrades is highly preferred. Clarity experience is a bonus, not required. Wil oversee the refreshes of Data Centers, Manufacturing sites, and various AbbVie sites for their Infrastructure systems / software. Platform upgrades = software upgrades on platforms already in production (Routers, Switches, WAPs; Palo Alto; Fire Eye; Cisco, etc.). May require some flexibility with early/late meetings with global teams to coordinate the refreshes; also working with SMEs on these systems. Years of experience/education and/or certifications required: Candidate should be an experienced (12+ years required) Technical Project Manager with Infrastructure project management experience in platform upgrades and Infrastructure lifecycle management. Technical Project Manager will: Plan, coordinate, and execute on Infrastructure projects aimed at platform upgrades, (examples but not complete list Palo Alto, Cisco LAN/wireless, Fireeye/Firepower, Checkpoint, F5) wherein software code on in-production hardware needs to be patched and/or upgraded to remain current and secure Expect to, over the life of the engagement, have a mix a mix of platforms to upgrade at various Data Center/CNF, Manufacturing and edge sites throughout AbbVie eco-system Expect to lead multiple threads/sub-projects throughout the engagement as each platform may have a different footprint and sequencing for upgrades Be expected to track metrics on progress by platform and other criteria appropriate to the engagement to keep platform and organization leadership thoroughly informed Thoroughly document where exceptions are made; working ahead or inability to complete, dependencies etc. Candidate should be an experienced (12+ years required) Technical Project Manager with Infrastructure project management experience in platform upgrades and Infrastructure lifecycle management. Provide execution coordination during upgrade events, including planned sequence tracking, issues/risks, and escalation where required. Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, able to manage a variety of tasks, and be able to communicate to leadership. Will conduct meetings with project team members and key stakeholders, publishing meeting minutes. Will manage weekly and monthly progress reporting, as well as tracking project financials for budget adherence. Strong collaboration and communication skills needed as the individual will provide updates and ongoing reporting to both the immediate team and leadership. This individual will work with a matrixed AbbVie team across IAI, Security, and the individual sites, as well as at minimum 2 AbbVie vendors/managed service providers. Contract to run from candidates start date through 12/31/23 (roughly 1 year contract) with possibility to extend as performance and project timelines dictate. Important to note: Do not submit candidates who desire to work 100% remote. This is non-negotiable as AbbVie has transitioned back to an on-site workplace within this team and the expectation is 3 days a week on site in Lake County, IL. Applicants must be U.S.-based and able to work full time. Will execute and deliver in line with below expectations. Expectations: Develop, execute, and manage project(s) within the defined scope. Lead all aspects of the project lifecycle, working with project sponsors/key stakeholders, team members, and management to oversee all phases of project completion. Build and manage projects work breakdown structure, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of the project. Ensure transparent reporting of project status, issues, risks, and financials. The individual will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Be able to work under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Specific Responsibilities: Drive Project Success and Completion: Understand and drive leadership of the project to success. Build key relationships with stakeholders, mentor team members and demonstrate leadership at all levels. Initiate and Plan Project: Works with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, financials, and deliverables. Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect the project, working with business and IT management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget. Executing and Closing Project: Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed. Leads team in delivering project scope. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders. Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to project teams, business, and IT management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues and manage risks. Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities. Motivates project team to deliver project outcomes. Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and functional policies and procedures. Decisions: Make decisions that impact project level activities. Drive Continuous Improvement of Project Process and Governance: Will continually examine Plans/Risks/Issues to identify gaps in project communication or process, and holding project team accountable for improvement, to drive proactive solutions as the project is ongoing.
