Job title: Network Specialist Location: Palo Alto, CA - Onsite Visa restrictions: GC or USC Duration: 6+ months contract Job Description: We are looking for an entry-level networking specialist, as a supporting role, to assist in the Palo Alto, California network transformation initiative, and other relevant duties as assigned. The said specialist will work under the direction of both the regional and local security managers. During the transformation project, the onsite worker will install, program, and provide documentation for all things related to layer-two networking. Attendance in meetings at the program and project level is a must to understand project deliverables and to maintain productive relationships up to the point of project completion. Communication and time management skills will be leveraged due to competing resources and the management of two longer-term projects. Minimum Requirements: Must live within driving distance of the HP Palo Alto, California Site, and be able to work normal business hours and days. Entry level experience with network environments and cybersecurity practices (e.g. LAN, WAN, Wireless, routing, switching and etc.). Must have experience programming switches at layer twowhile following standard cybersecurity practices and models. Experience with implementation, problem analysis, and triage of infrastructure and business application environments. Experience with HP switches and network monitoring solutions (NMS) is a plus. Demonstrated social skills needed to work with local stakeholders while solving complex issues, building requirements, and building and maintaining the relationships needed, up to the point of project completion. Professional certification: Network+, CCNA, or CCNP certification(s).
