From: sunil, ICS [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position: Release Manager Location: Beloit, WI or Chicago, IL prefer local candidates, but will consider remote (must be willing to go on-site for important meetings) Duration: 12+ month contract Start Date: Last week of FEB Notes: This person will manage and track the Programs release and deployment lifecycle processes, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases for all environments, including of Production and lower environments. Releases are inclusive of updates to third-party SaaS integrated software, configurations, code, patches, data, etc. This role works collaboratively with team members from software development, configuration, data migration, testing, and operations. The position also works with the IT Release Manager for improving processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating systems and environments Responsibilities Plan and track release windows and cycles across the Program Manage all aspects of a Release, ensuring that the Release is delivered through effective use of established processes, methodologies, and practices and is audit compliant at all times Communicate and enforce release management processes, procedures, and standards with development, configuration, vendor, operations, and Program teams Communicate release notifications, schedules, and details to Program, Business, and IT Stakeholders Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates Participate inand occasionally facilitaterelease readiness, release milestones, the Programs change control board (CCB), and release go/no go reviews Creating requests for change and obtain appropriate approvals, including approvals from the governing bodies and risk management groups Monitor and provide visibility into release health and status Facilitate and/or participate in release retrospectives Provide input into Release process improvements Assist with maintaining deployment runbooks, communication plans, and other documentation as needed Required skills and experience Five (5) to seven (7) years of previous experience in release management or related field, such as project management, information systems operations, software development, or QA management Understanding a complex system of applications and coordinating dependencies between teams and systems for project or feature deliverables Understand environments and the impact of branches and code merges Familiarity with code management Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must Advanced organizational skills are a must Understanding of Agile and software development lifecycle Experience or formal training in Agile Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies is a plus Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required Ability to work some weeknights and weekends is required Nice to have: Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCS) desired, but not required Experience or knowledge of Change or Release Management audit processes / controls is desired, but not required (e.g. ISO; COBIT) Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM/ITIL) is a plus Experience or knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools and applications such as Teams, Skype, and Planner is a plus Experience with Azure DevOps (formerly TFS) or other Agile management tool is a plus Proficiency in planning, tracking, and managing projects in JIRA Keywords: quality analyst information technology golang Illinois Wisconsin |
