Job Description

The Readiness and Deployment Workstream Lead is responsible for ensuring that ABC Supply (IT, back office, and field) is prepared for the new ERP ecosystem and for the successful deployment of the Agility ecosystem to ABC Supply branches. This role encompasses the creation of readiness and deployment checklists and playbooks, validation of those checklists and playbooks across the Program team, and coordination of the execution of readiness and deployment activities themselves, leading up to and through the deployment weekend
For context, readiness and deployment activities for a deployment start ninety-days prior to the deployment weekend; also, the readiness and deployment playbook for the deployment of the Agility ecosystem to L&W Supply (a division of ABC) contained several thousand activities executed by dozens of team members from a Friday afternoon through end of day the following Monday. It is expected that the deployment to ABC branches will be significantly larger and more complex
This role is considered a part of the Agility Program Leadership
The ideal candidate will be someone who has been accountable for the execution of one or more large, complex deployments at a multi-billion company. The candidate will have exceptional organizational, communication (written and verbal), and prioritization skills. They will be as comfortable working with Associates in the ABC branches as they are presenting progress towards a successful deployment to the ABC Executive Team.
The candidate will be an elite project manager, with a keen understanding of the nature of dependencies that exist across a Program with 300 team members. The candidate will have a broad understanding of IT, as well, inclusive of IT Operations and infrastructure
Ideally, the candidate will have deployed a major ERP and/or point-of-sale solution to multiple customer-facing locations, although ERP specific deployments are not a strict requirement
The ideal candidate will enjoy taking a hands-on approach, i.e., is willing to build project plans, lead and facilitate meetings, create presentations, validate the quality of deliverables, assign and delegate activities to resources, as well as enjoy thinking strategically about the overall approach to a project, i.e., is willing to build roadmaps, project charters, resource plans, risk and mitigation strategies, etc
The ideal candidate will have strong vendor management skills and understand how to structure statements of work, integrated activity and resource plans, testing and deployment plans, with one or more vendors, concurrently

Responsibilities

Oversee the construction of a comprehensive readiness and deployment playbook.
Oversee the execution of readiness activities across ABC Supply, inclusive of the back office, the field, and IT
Oversee the execution of deployment activities over the deployment weekend, coordinating teams from the Program (master data migration and validation, configuration updates, back office and field communication, smoke testing, roll-back, if necessary, etc.), the back office, and the field
Ensure a comprehensive roll-back plan exists for individual components of the deployment as well as for a deployment as a whole
Communicate progress on both readiness and deployment activities to the Agility Program Manager and broadly to the Agility Program Team; communicate progress at various Agility reporting events, including to the ABC Executive Team
Build a plan articulating high-level readiness and deployment activities
Track risks and issues in the Agility Program RAID Log; serve as escalation point for project teams dealing with conflicts, risks and impediments related to deployment; work with program, project, business, and IT leadership, as needed, to drive resolution
