The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage, Teradata, complex SQL, Python, and Perl scripting, along with a solid understanding of healthcare data environments. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-scale ETL pipelines and data integration solutions while ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage. Develop and optimize complex Teradata SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extraction/transformation logic. Work extensively with Teradata databases, including data modeling, performance tuning, and large-volume data processing. Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable ETL/data integration solutions. Develop and maintain DataStage jobs, parallel jobs, sequences, transformations, and workflows. Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and loading across enterprise data platforms. Write and maintain Perl scripts for automation, data processing, and ETL support activities. Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation, validation, and operational support. Troubleshoot ETL failures, data quality issues, performance problems, and production incidents. Optimize SQL and ETL processes to improve performance and reduce processing time. Work with cloud-based data platforms and technologies as part of data modernization initiatives. Support migration of legacy ETL/data workloads to cloud environments. Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, QA teams, and healthcare stakeholders. Ensure data solutions comply with healthcare data quality, security, privacy, and governance requirements. Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, production support, and documentation. Required Skills 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering / ETL development. Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage. Expert-level Teradata experience. Strong SQL skills with the ability to write, read, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries. Strong experience working with large-volume healthcare data. Hands-on experience with Perl scripting. Hands-on experience with Python for data engineering, automation, or data processing. Experience with Cloud technologies/platforms and cloud-based data engineering environments. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data integration, data transformation, and data quality. Experience troubleshooting and supporting production ETL applications. Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and relational databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience in Healthcare / Healthcare Insurance domain. Experience working with Optum/UHG healthcare data environments. Knowledge of healthcare claims, member, provider, eligibility, or clinical data. Experience with HIPAA and healthcare data security/privacy requirements. Experience with cloud migration and modernization of legacy ETL platforms. Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP data services. Experience with CI/CD and source control tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
