The consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and implementing archiving solutions that optimize database growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and support long-term data retention and retrieval requirements. Key Responsibilities Analyse SAP GTS data volume growth and identify archiving candidates. Define archiving, retention, and residence policies in collaboration with business, legal, and compliance teams. Design and configure SAP GTS data archiving solutions using SAP BTP DMS. Configure archiving objects, variants, content repositories, and retrieval mechanisms. Implement archival processes for SAP GTS objects such as: o /SAPSLL/SPLAT o CHANGEDOCU o Other high-volume transactional and custom GTS tables Prepare Technical Design Documents (TDD), Functional Design Documents (FDD), and archiving strategy documents. Support archive, write, store, delete, and retrieval processes. Execute unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, and defect resolution. Coordinate with SAP Basis, Infrastructure, Security, and Business teams during deployment. Perform data validation and reconciliation before and after archival. Develop cutover plans and support production deployment activities. Provide post-go-live hyper care support and knowledge transfer to AMS teams. Required Skills SAP Expertise SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) SAP Data Archiving / Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) SAP Archive Administration (SARA) SAP HANA database understanding SAP BTP SAP BTP Document Management Service (DMS) SAP BTP Connectivity and Security Document Repository and Content Management SAP Cloud Integration concepts Technical Skills ABAP Data Dictionary knowledge Table growth and data volume management Archiving object configuration Performance optimization Transport management and release procedures Testing and validation methodologies Preferred Experience 8+ years of SAP experience. 3+ years in SAP Data Archiving or ILM projects. Experience with SAP GTS implementations/support. Hands-on experience with SAP BTP DMS integration. Experience working in SAP RISE and S/4HANA environments. Knowledge of compliance and retention policies.
