From: Peter, Visionsoft [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR Detroit, MI Hybrid GC & USC SUMMARY: The responsibilities of this position are to maintain and oversee the functionality of the network, software, and cyber security for the Detroit Housing Commission. This will include all maintenance and troubleshooting, deployments, expansions, and upgrades. Provide input to executive management for organization-wide strategic planning, coordinate and oversee system usage training, and technical support for DHC employees. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 4+ years experience in a network engineer role NSE4, MCSE, CISSP, CCNA certification a plus EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Experience with IT infrastructure to support Fortinet and Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, servers, NAS storage, advanced threat intelligence, response, and compliance Experience with 10Gb, 40Gb, 10Gb and 1Gb LAN/WAN fiber interconnects design and implementation Experience with Internet protocols, Windows Active Directory, Secure LDAP, Radius Server, vLANs, routing and switching, endpoint security, VPN tunnels, packet capture and analysis, SSH, TLS/SSL, vulnerability assessment tools, troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of the issue across Data, voice, and wireless network Experience with Cisco IP Telephony (VolP) design, provisioning, implementation, and configuration Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Windows Hyper Converged Cluster environment design and implementation Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2022, 2019, and 2016, Windows 10 and 11 professional operating systems Experience with MS Office365 applications, MS Teams, SharePoint Experience with Veeam enterprise backup suite, implement backup/restore jobs OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must have or be able to acquire a valid state drivers license Must pass federal, state, and local criminal investigation clearances, and pass a drug screening test administered by the Commission or its designated provider Must be insurable under the agencys insurance policy KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of Housing & Urban Development Public Housing regulations and policies pertinent to the department Knowledge of DHC and departmental policies, procedures, and goals Knowledge of HUD programs, requirements, and policies/procedures Knowledge of relevant government regulations and how to comply with them using computerized IT applications environment Knowledge of standard office procedures, filing, and standard office equipment, including computer, fax, copier, telephone system Knowledge of the principles and practices of automated information systems, and data processing Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications such as Windows 11/10, MS Office 365, MS Project, MS Visio, Adobe Acrobat DC, web tools and browsers Knowledge of local and wide area networks and inter networking Knowledge of the principles and practices of Information Technology and Telecommunication Technology Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of computers systems and software applications Knowledge of organizations structure, policies, and procedures Knowledge of strategic planning and organizational development techniques Knowledge of the operation of commission and HUD computer system and software Knowledge of network structured cabling and diagnostic/repair techniques REQUIRED ABILITIES Act Independently Analyze Situations Attend to Details Communicate Verbally Communicate in Writing Concentrate Identify Problems Initiate Manage Pressure Motivate Multi-Task Organize Problem Solve Think Creatively Empathize REQUIRED SKILL JOB DESCRIPTION: Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities Ability to work independently under minimal supervision Knowledge of computing infrastructures Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability Proficiency with scripting languages Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES TBD REPORTS TO IT Manager ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS [The fundamental job duties the individual must be able to perform, with or without accommodation;
