May need to do scripting, configuration, CMBD, need to understand direction the company is going and make good decisions about what NEEDS to be done not just what can be done (just because they have ServiceNow capabilities, it isnt always the best way to do it, so they must be able to understand that), check against ITEL practices and make sure they need to use ServiceNow. Need a real leader. Not someone super creative, pick the best option dont try to think outside the box. Sysco takes pride in their ability to upgrade 2x a year in 2 weeks, they limit the amount of coding, keep things as clean and integrations are very important. Need someone who can do knowledge transfer to existing people so they have more than one person who knows what to do. High level training and ability to cover if they lose people. Need to be able to guide team in Sri Lanka. Can be fully remote, any location 8-5 but need to be flexible during upgrades, code review, testing etc. Technical expertise in ServiceNow need to have a good understanding but they dont have to be experts in every area because they have support from ServiceNow. Looking for a proactive person who can use foresight, understand ServiceNow modules and connectors so they can support when they incorporate ServiceNow into HR Must be a good technical leader and be able to communicate well with low level and VP, need to be confident when communicating Have budget to send them to conferences and help them learn Within a couple of years they would like candidate to be in an architect role, so need to be willing to learn and grow Responsibilities Drives technical priorities and owns delivery and support responsibility for one or more product or platform teams Oversees agile development activities for a product or platform and leads the development of key mechanisms that support agile delivery Collaborates between interdependent groups to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and cross-team dependencies May sometimes provide hands-on assistance with exceptionally complex technical solutions, operating as a senior engineer Engages with other technical stakeholders (operations, enterprise architecture, etc.) as necessary to manage technical requirements; facilitates estimation of costs and effort of work items Ensure the engineering and technical considerations are accounted for in team rituals Ensures that the delivery team commits to achievable and realistic goals and includes the entire team in the estimation / planning process to obtain diverse perspectives Leads the technical design of the products or platforms and ensures that the prescribed architecture, security, development best practices, and agile best practices are adhered to Mandatory Experience: Bachelor's degree in CS or 5-7 years of software development experience, including 1 year in a dev focused leadership role 8+ years of experience in developing and supporting high performance and highly scalable applications in an agile environment, depending on education Extensive hands-on experience with the underlying technologies of ServiceNow (programming languages, databases, application integration etc.) Strong understanding of Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban and other agile development techniques Fluency in DevOps, including continuous integration, continuous deployment / delivery, configuration and containerization, infrastructure as a code, and monitoring Competencies: Demonstrated agile-development mindset with strong customer-focus & results-orientation Flexible mindset and demonstrated ability to grow skillset and work across the full technology stack Excellent technical and analytical skills to discuss problems, analyze solutions and enable improvement Excellent communication skills to effectively manage key business stakeholder relationships Highly proficient in teamwork and collaboration skills Keywords: information technology |
