Scope of Residency: Customer is seeking a Sr. Cisco UCEngineer for Voice Services team. This position employs recognized bestpractices to minimize unplanned service outages and maintain system and serviceavailability. This position will coordinate with other IT functional areas onsystems upgrades or modifications to minimize disruptions, and troubleshootmore complex problems that have escalated within the telecommunicationsfunction. This position will be a team leader involved in the design of complexconfigurations or in the evaluation and administration of the unifiedcommunications system. Additionally, it would be someone who could work withCisco TAC and customer remote monitoring team to resolve any issues that arisewith customer CUCM environment. Understanding trunking, the CUCM serverenvironment, and some of the system integrations with authentication and callrouting. Candidate would also get involved with the operational daily tasks, ofMoves, Adds and Deletions in addition to placing new phone and performing workorder tickets to fix any handset issue.

Requirements:

Ability to be on call 24/7 for production issues

Responsibilities:

* Administer a large IP telephony environment with Cisco UC systems and otherintegrated technologies.

* Provides leadership and senior level expertise in voice, video andcollaboration services and support.

* Manage, Configure, troubleshoot, upgrade and maintain a large, complex andhighly resilient Cisco voice, video and collaboration infrastructure

* Advanced troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems forrouting, switching, security and large scale voice and video implementations.

* Experience creating/supporting IPSec MPLS VPN infrastructure.

* Experience designing, configuring and troubleshooting QoS classification,marking and prioritization of network traffic (voice, critical applications,etc.).

* Strong organizational, problem solving, time management, and interpersonalskills.

* Experience in Visio diagramming, and knowledge of WAN principals preferred

* Troubleshoots network/voice issues in support of our partners and inalignment with businesses, programs, and the enterprise at a tier 4 level

* Implements new solutions per architecture design in support of Corporate andBusiness initiatives

* Develops play/run books to support transition of services to NetworkOperations/NOC for on-going Day 2 support Performs network traffic analysisand recommends upgrades or configuration changes

* Reconfigures and upgrades network elements, systems, and facilities insupport of network compliance and business requirements

* Responsible for cross functional and partner collaboration withinnetwork/voice troubleshooting, fault detection, isolation, repair, andrestoration.

* Prepares network documentation, technical papers and reports as required

* Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies while definingand monitoring access

* Availability to provide On Call support out of normal working hours on arotational basis

Skills/Education:

* Bachelors degree in Information Technology (IT) or related field; or four(4) years of Unified Communications experience with managing and maintaining alarge, complex and highly resilient Cisco voice, enterprise wide video andcollaboration infrastructure may be substituted for the educationalrequirement.

* In addition to the educational requirement, six (6) years experience withCisco Voice and Video platforms including Cisco Unified Communications Manager(CUCM), Unity Connection (CUC) and Cisco Unified Boundary Element (CUBE)

* 4 years working with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (version CUCM 14.Xor above), Cisco CUBE, Expressways, Cisco Unity, and Webex Calling

* Experience with network routing/switching technologies

* Basic Understanding of concepts: OSI and TCP/IP Model, VTP, SIP, STP, Etherchannel, Routing and trunking protocols,etc.

* Able to apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot and isolate VoIP/SIPIssues.

* Ability and experience to support Cisco Unity Connection Voicemail System

* Understanding of configuring and troubleshooting AudioCodes analog gateways

* Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco CUBE SBCs and carriertrunking

* Configuration knowledge of VMWare, vSphere

* Understanding of PSTN connectivity and older TDM technologies, a plus

* Technically skilled in E164/E911 strategies, best practices andimplementation experiences

* Direct involvement in planning and completing various UC upgrades andpatching.

* Proactive attitude to use his/her initiative to react quickly, to workeffectively in emergency situations under minimum supervision.

* Work as a team with other engineers and multiple vendors to complete complexprojects.

* Analytical skills diagnosing problems and defining root cause analysis

* Excellent communication (oral/written) and system documenting skills

* Excellent decision making and critical-thinking skills

* Ability to learn and support new technologies and train others

* Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude

* Ticket management: this includes documentation of work performed, follow upwith customers and information gathering process to complete the requests

* Experience in implementing and troubleshooting SIP preferred

* Demonstrated project management experience

* Active Directory, InfoBlox, SSO/Shib/Duo integrations

Preferred Certifications:

* CCIE (Collaboration)

* CCNA Voice

* CCNP (Collaboration) (Highly preferred)

* CCNA

* VMware VCDX-DCV, VCDX-NV, and/or VCDX-CMA certification(s)

* Microsoft certification (a plus)

* Information systems and/or telecommunications certification
