Senior Mainframe Developer- Java & AWS Location: Malvern, PA- Only Local Candidates Experience Required: 8+ Years No or - profiles Employment Type: Contract (C2C & W2) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in Mainframe technologies, COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processing, along with modern application development skills in Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, Angular, and AWS. The ideal candidate will act as a key liaison between business and technology teams, contribute to application design and development, perform code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison between business and technology teams. Facilitate technical discussions with sponsors, product owners, architects, and delivery teams. Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise applications. Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processing. Develop and support modern applications using Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, and Angular. Work with AWS cloud services and databases including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and defect resolution. Identify and resolve technical issues and application defects in a timely manner. Collaborate with architects, developers, QA teams, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams. Ensure software solutions are aligned with business objectives and technical standards. Participate in application modernization and integration initiatives involving Mainframe and cloud technologies. Provide technical guidance and support to development teams. Work independently while effectively collaborating within a team environment Required Skills 8-10 years of overall software development experience. Strong hands-on experience with Mainframe technologies. Strong COBOL development experience. Strong experience with DB2. Experience developing and supporting Stored Procedures. Strong experience with Batch processing and JCL. Hands-on experience with CICS. Experience with VSAM. Strong understanding of application design, coding, testing, debugging, and production support. Experience with AWS Cloud and AWS database technologies. Experience with PostgreSQL/Postgres and DynamoDB. Strong Core Java and advanced Java concepts. Experience with Spring Boot. Experience with ReactJS. Experience with Angular 13+. Ability to work across both legacy Mainframe and modern digital application environments. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
