Project manager Location : NYC,NY- Hybrid- Local or from nearby states Duration : 6 Months MOI : Skype Job Description: Our financial services client is looking for a ProjectManager to manage technology projects within a larger FX program. The job holder oversees medium to large systemdevelopment projects from inception to implementation. S/he is responsible forassembling the project team and assigning individual responsibilities. S/hedevelops detailed project plans and monitors project results for significantdeviations. S/he manages vendor and client relations to ensure that projectexpectations are developed and met. S/he ensures adherence to current projectmanagement standard processes and ensures compliance to quality assurancepolicies. Manage Stakeholder relationships by: Ensuringstakeholder expectations are understood and managed accordingly. Managestakeholder communications & participation. Promote effective individualand team performance. Act as primary point of contact to handle project issuesas well as manage changes to project scope Have a strong customer focus. Managethe development and execution of a project by adhering to a defined projectmanagement methodology. Ensure the work of the project, including requirementsand deliverables, are clearly defined. Control the project, in part, byleveraging formal change management Identifying and mitigating risk. Confirmproject success criteria and managing accordingly. Monitor, evaluate, andcontrol project performance. Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timelyfashion. Plan and schedule project tasks based, in part, on resourceavailability and other dependencies. Oversee or modify a schedule of tasks withminimal supervision. Conduct routine project status calls and reporting ofproject status. Provide leadership to the group by seeking and participating inpersonal and team development opportunities including improving personal,technical and consulting skills, plus suggesting areas for improvement ininternal processes along with possible solutions; fostering & supportingconstructive change. Knowledge and skills: Able to plan and managethe delivery of IT infrastructure based systems that support clients' businessobjectives closely with IT functional areas, external and/or internalcustomers, and vendors in defining project priorities, scope, approach,resource requirements, timing, and funding in this matrix organization.Experience required in collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams.Strong ability to identify risks and issues and present options for mitigationbased, in part, on what best services the customer. Use developedverbal/written communications skills, interpersonal skills and organizationalskills. Experienced virtual project management for a global organization. Relyon knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies and how they integrate. Possessan introductory understanding of application programming, database, systemdesign, internet, extranet, intranet & client/server architectures. Rely onknowledge of IT infrastructure technologies and how they integrate. Possess anintroductory understanding of application programming, database, system design,internet, extranet, intranet & client/server architectures Exhibit solid knowledge of MS-Office, scheduling& time tracking tools. Successfully manage work with minimal guidance andsupervision. Build consensus, influence others and negotiate compromise. Be atrue "team player" that enjoys challenges and is highly motivated,self-directed and results oriented. College degree or equivalent combination ofIT education & experience deemed acceptable by the hiring manager. PMI CAPM, PMP and/or ITIL certification required or committed to acquiring within a 2 year periodfrom date of hire; ITIL a plus. Minimum 5-8 years experience required. Job Requirements: Mid-level PM (5-7 years of experience) Track record of successful technology project delivery. Work directly with the team to create sprint plans that aligns tothe overall project plan. Follow the companiesSDLC processes to ensure all artifacts are maintained. Manage project risks and issues on a daily basis and worked withthe stakeholder on risk mitigations and management. Manage the project resources, budget and scope of the releaseswithin the project Work with the Scrum Leads on improving the team based onretrospectives.
