Position Requirements: Bachelors Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or other engineering or technical discipline, plus 10 (10) or more years of related hands-on experience. An additional eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Strong working knowledge of Agile development/project management tools (Jira, Rally, etc.). Must be able to obtain and maintain agency clearance based on a successful background check. Prior experience supporting VA is highly desired. Responsibilities: The Quality Assurance Manager will serve as a memberof a Scrum Team tasked with operating and maintaining the Claims ProcessingSystem. The individual will be responsible for implementing and documenting QAprocesses, especially regarding the adoption of new tools for test automationand test results, and for coordinating and tracking code scanning results, unittest coverage etc. with development teams. Experience as a developer is notrequired, but an understanding of software QA and familiarity with associatedtools and practices are essential. The position requires experience reviewingperformance trends, identifying opportunities for improvement, and reportingfindings. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively seek outways to make improvements to processes and procedures through observation anddiscussions with team members. The individual selected should demonstrateup-to-date technical expertise and apply that expertise using the full suite ofmodern software development-related tools employed by VA (GitHub, Jira, Rally, etc.).Other responsibilities will include: Function as part of an integrated team sharing products, best practices, and information across the portfolio. Coordinate implementation and enforcement of software quality best practices across the project. Coordinate adoption of software quality platform tools. Coordinate the Identification, implementation, and review of software development and delivery best practices. Create, maintain, and review documentation related to processes and best practices. Provide support to customer facing meetings and activities. Maintain knowledge of the VA Technical Reference Model (TRM) and support compliance. Meet with individual scrum teams to identify gaps or risks and work with team members to resolve same. Work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
