This role will involve working both collaboratively and independently to make usability decisions on how to best present content and functionality across a variety of web experiences. As a UX Designer, you will serve as a practioner and advocate for UX methods in the following areas:

    Strategy definition for User Experience and Information Architecture

    Illustration of IA concepts: workflows, journeys, jobs-to-be-done, site maps, content diagrams, wireframes, taxonomies, etc.

    Content strategy and consultation with business leaders and content creators

    Design web pages that serve customers and match their needs with business objectives

    Usability testing via automated tools including test writing, recruiting, issue validation and report writing

This position best suits a creative problem-solver with an eye for how to engage users in both marketing and complex e-commerce environments. A successful candidate will be someone with a start-up mentality who does not mind ambiguity and is confident when faced with many moving parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Thought Leadership

    Responsible for guiding the project approach and for serving as internal reviewer for connecting concurrent architecture projects with the goal of efficiency and consistency

    Serve as a departmental liaison for IA and UX, and business and content teams to foster understanding and appreciation of the customer experience

UX Design, Research & Validation

    Document design and development requirements such as navigation, taxonomy, content considerations, interactions, user flows, etc. with Figma, Sketch, Axure, Adobe XD or comparable tools

    Develop information architecture, data models, task flows and hierarchical illustrations of products, product relationships, content, shopping tools, experiences, and sitemaps

    Test and validate architecture models, taxonomies, UI and navigation within and across digital products and sites

    Map business and systems requirements to functional features and definitions, provide recommendations based on usability results and other research results

    Attribute design decisions to data points, partnering with our in-house analytics team.

    Support and iterate upon clients web styles and interaction patterns

    Support SEO best practices by partnering with SEO and analytics specialists

    Deliver work according to project timelines within production schedules.

    Work directly with product owners and business partners to capture user flows and detailed wireframes based on high level user stories

    Influence and cooperate with other departments to ensure consistency and quality across brands and platforms

Usability Consultation

    Work as a Subject Matter Expert for our business partners

    Provide guidance in new development estimates and release planning

    Present work and represent marketing iniatives, often balancing and communicating multiple interests from different groups and sources

    Function as internal expert in usability and information architecture, representing the best practices of the team and broader UX field

    Work with internal and external partners to collect and translate research findings into design improvements

    Communicate design concepts effectively, build consensus, and justify decisions

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Required

    Minimum of 4+ years completed toward a post-secondary degree in a related field and/or related work experience, evidenced in portfolio and resume

    Minimum of 3+ years as a UX designer specializing in user-centered design, information architecture in web marketing and/or service design including mobile web and/or app design

    Experience working in both waterfall and agile environments

    Using standard discipline-focused software tools (InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud, Omnigraffle, Axure, Balsamiq, Sketch and related applications)

    Excellent writing and communication skills

    Ability to work effectively with multiple teams of people in an often high-pressure and fast-paced environment

    General understanding of development required to fulfill coding of designed experiences

Preferred

    Agency experience preferred

    Corporate experience preferred
