Position : Network Engineer Lead Duration : 6 to 12 Months Location: Arkansas - REMOTE Job Summary: Lead Network Engineer is the lead technician for overall network design and strategies, and designs and implements the network infrastructure utilizing Cisco Nexus platform. Incumbent configures and administers complex LAN and WAN technologies. Lead Network Engine provides detailed documentation of network changes and creates & maintains Visio network drawings. Individuals resolve daily connectivity issues within the service desk queue in a timely manner as well as offer immediate assistance as needed. Education & Experience: Bachelors degree, in Business, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, or related. In lieu of degree, at least five (5) years of equivalent experience. Seven (7) years of direct experience in networking systems, computer repair and network operations. Knowledge of operations and procedures including configuring, tuning, monitoring, securing, and managing network software and hardware. Experience leading in four (4) or more large-scale projects. CCNP or similar certification or equivalent demonstrable experience. Responsibilities: Leads other members of the IT Data Center Infrastructure Network Services Team with all IT network management functions including maintenance, upgrades, configuration, operations, and performance tuning of all network hardware and software. Possesses knowledge of the strategic planning process within IS&T in order to effectively maintain successful network management processes consistent with IS&T goals and objectives. Researches and implements network components including software, hardware, security, administration, policies, and procedures. Analyzes and evaluates user requests for networking components and connectivity, services, and support. Updates reporting mechanisms based on progression of tasks. Assigns technical duties to team members to enhance function and availability of the network. Provide 24/7 on-call support as a part of the team on call rotation.
