Works with various automation tools to automate the deployment of VMs in a public or private cloud. Works with various configuration management tools to manage a consistent state for VMs. Interfaces with other teams to collect and define project requirements for automating and deploying their application or technology stack. Bridge the gap between various different organizations by leveraging automation tooling and concepts. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Designs, implements, integrates, automate, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Tests and reviews system designs. Provides Engineering Technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met. Provides technical leadership within the area of expertise and mentors junior engineers. Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements. Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Performs other duties as requested by the manager. Requirements Top 5 Requirements: - 10+ years of overall experience; background as a Linux admin and then learned development is ideal - Strong understanding of runners and webhooks in Gitlab - Experience working in a CI/CD environment - Experience with Ansible - Knowledge of JSON - used in automation Plusses: - Experience with workflow engines - YAML - Python - may be asked to write some Python code in this job Day to Day/Project: - Ideal candidate is a Linux Admin turned developer - Unit testing is important so that they can build some tests around whatever they build - Integration, automation of various tools that support on-prem cloud - This team also supports applications that are on the cloud - Theyre building the actual automation for anything thats needed to help support the operations team - Day 0 type work - They do the automation and architecture - DevOps Engineer really need someone who has experience building tools, not just pushing buttons - This team is supposed to build it, test it, validate it, to make sure its solid - Understanding of templates - may need to build some templates so this team can recreate the same thing over and over again - Good for them to have an understanding of templates, this team uses Jinja - Cloud Management Platform (CMP) - will work with Itencial in order to integrate with various environments in different environments - Another group handles Kubernetes, Lambdas, the CAZ environment, what this team is doing is theyre building the automated deployment where they can take the whole CAZ environment - Some of the teams that the team gets involved with is Terraform as an example Keywords: continuous integration continuous deployment information technology Colorado |
