Duration: 6+month Visa: GC or USC HIGHLIGHTED IS MUST Family: Commercial Technology CoreDM The Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for the operations, build and management of the Windows 2016/2019 server environment. Including: SQL Server backups, IIS Web Servers, File Servers, DNS Domain Controllers, Desired State Configuration (DSC), Active Directory, RDS Gateway, RDS Sessions Hosts and support of other application servers. The focus within this environment is on automation, especially with PowerShell. Support will include upgrading, maintaining, and improving existing automation and enabling robust monitoring and alerting for all systems. Responsible for technical configuration, design, administration, development, implementation, and support of the Windows frameworks that Commercial Technology products utilize. Responsible for ongoing security maintenance of Windows hosts, including OS and software patching, vulnerability remediation, and cloud configuration management.ad Demonstrates and applies technical knowledge and capabilities for the Windows environment. Demonstrates knowledge of system information dependencies and end to end application transaction competency for the Windows environment. Maintains platform or system health and availability requirements through monitoring channels and includes HA\\DR testing. Resolves support issues involving all Windows systems. Monitors and manages proactive maintenance to the Windows environment; manages and maintains SOPs for all Windows systems for HITRUST compliance. Interfaces with software engineering teams and partners on operational platform events as well as solution design needs for the Windows environment. Must be able to: Apply comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects Contribute to the development of policies and procedures Work on complex projects of large scope Ability to troubleshoot and discover issues independently Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives Work independently; receives general guidance on new projects Act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues Core Technical Requirements Windows Desired State Configuration (DSC) PowerShell GitHub Agile/Jira practices Ansible/Chef Terraform Deep knowledge and experience in AWS Services, especially EC2 and Networking SQL Server Database (strongly desired) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience 4+ years of experience in related field Deep competency and knowledge in Windows OS Breadth in multiple Software/Info Platform technology domains Good verbal and written communication Keywords: active directory green card |
