| From: James Smith, Yochana Solutions [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Title- DB2 LUW Location Remote- USA Duration Long Term Contract Skill- DB2LUW with strong patching, upgrade & migration About this role: DB2LUW DBA interacts with functional representatives, Systems Administration and Programming, and Applications Development project teams to apply data operations requirements to support the effective storage and retrieval of data. He/She works independently on one or more highly complex database environments. DB2LUW DBA investigates complex problems, monitors performance, contributes to back-up and recovery procedures, creates reports, and configures and installs database software. Database Analyst must be able to understand and articulate complex technical issues. Planning and organizational abilities are required while carrying out their duties when working on multiple projects simultaneously. Minimum Qualifications: Experience with Database Administration, Database Backup and Recovery, Database Performance Tuning, Database monitoring (Data Management Console), DB2 Performance and Tuning, Linux Performance & Tuning and Windows Operating System Knowledge of handling DB2 databases on Linux and Windows required. Specifically, advanced knowledge of administration, Performance tuning and backup and recovery options. Knowledge on Linux and Windows OS scripting language is required. i.e Shell Scripting on Linux and Powershell scripting knowledge in windows is desired. Knowledge on DB2 software installation, Database and Instance creation, Database Upgrade, DB2 Fixpack patching, backup/restore on Linux and Windows is needed. Knowledge on DB2 client and DB2 Connect installations for Linux and Windows is required. Expertise on DB2 HADR setup and TSA is required. i.e Implement DB2 high availability disaster recovery in a Tivoli System Automation cluster domain. Familiarity with any one Automation tools. Knowledge on Ansible is desired. Familiarity with any one performance Monitoring tool. Knowledge on Data Management Console is desired. Able to handle Production Oncall Support and familiarity with Incident management tools. Knowledge on SMC (service Now) is desired. Familiarity with Requirements Analysis. Must be organized and a team player. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in work experience and education.
