Role: Data Engineer Location: Troy, MI (Locals Only Onsite) Duration: Contract Other Skills/Experience -Required: Expert in SQL, Python (Programming) Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data sets In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework Other Skills/Experience -Preferred: Additional Requirements: Demonstrate the ability to document steps in a process and make technology recommendations to improve the process Knowledgeable of statistical methods such as regression, probability analysis, risk analysis, statistical process control, and clustering is desired Able to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models Data and business analysis background Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint Strong experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. NoSQL databases experience is a plus Experience with user-defined workflows Problem solver that is action-oriented with the ability to look at problems in new ways. Working knowledge of data management software like Data factory, or other ETL tools a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to design an effective solution. Ability to support multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong communicational skills, organizational skills, negotiation skills, and flexibility to address competing demands. Ability to explain Production / technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses. Superior business judgement ability to flex between big picture thinking, understand and distill complex ideas, and analyze data to drive strategic objectives. Familiarity with BI technologies (ex., Microsoft Power BI, AWS Quick sight, QlikView) Familiarity with one or more programming languages (ex: Python, R, JavaScript, C#, Java, etc.) ESSENTIAL DUTIES Collaborate closely with stakeholders and other engineers to develop new and unique data-driven solutions using Big Data platforms, creative analytical methods, and data visualization techniques (Data Modeling etc.) Connect and build pipelines between various data sources Support operational improvement and business decision making through ad-hoc statistical analysis of curated enterprise data and self-constructed data sets Leading BI software development, deployment, and maintenance Documenting contents in a data warehouse and meta-data storage Creating technical documentation for BI tools Data modeling Develop KPI dashboards Perform additional duties as assigned Act with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with our Compliance Policies and Procedures Thanks & Regards, Shane Watson Resource Specialist Yochana IT Solutions Inc.
